Information about The algebra Exit exam
The Algebra Exit Exam is a standardized test created to provide middle-grade students with the opportunity to place into advanced algebra classes which can eventually lead to AP courses. The Algebra Exit Exam is administered at the end of every school year for CPS and non-CPS students who wish to advance to higher-level math classes during the following year.
Composition
This exam is administered digitally. Students are given 34 multiple choice questions, 4 short constructed response questions, and 2 extended constructed response questions. They have 120 minutes (2 hours) to complete this exam.
The advanced calculator feature is enabled for the full exam. Students may also opt to use a handheld graphing calculator that does not have Computer Algebra System (CAS) functionality. Results
The exam is graded on a scale of 150 – 415. The results are recorded as pass or not pass. Students must score at least 300 points to pass and therefore be considered competent enough to advance to higher-level math courses.

Who should take this course? Middle grade students currently enrolled in an algebra course who wish to advance to a higher-level math course during the following school year.
What materials will my child receive? Your child will receive weekly packets that include worksheets for use in class. These handouts include easy-to-understand teaching notes as well as practice questions. Our materials are designed to facilitate active-learning by striking the right balance between instruction and student participation. Students will also have access to weekly online homework assignments (in our online testing platform) that will allow them to hone the skills learned in class.
How will my child's improvement be measured? Students will complete weekly online homework assignments and take an online exam during the final session. Graded homework assignments and the final test results will provide insight into your child's weekly comprehension and improvement.
What communication will I receive during the course? You will receive weekly emails from your child's teacher detailing what topics were covered in each class. Additionally, parents/students can access practice test results and weekly homework results in our online testing platform. These results include detailed analysis of each section broken down into separate subtopics.
Who will be teaching my child? Your child will be taught by one of Test Prep Chicago's highly skilled instructors. All Test Prep Chicago instructors have completed our intensive interview and training process.
How long is the course? Our course consists of 4 two-hour sessions offered once a week.
Where and when will classes be held? Classes will be held on weekends. Classes will be taught at a nearby school or public classroom.
What is the course tuition? What is included in the tuition payment? The tuition for our Algebra Exit Exam courses is $305 (~$38/hour for in-class instruction). This tuition covers all in-class instruction, test prep material, and online testing material in our online testing platform.
